South African vehicles show safety improvements, but children still at risk

Global NCAP and the Automobile Association (AA) South Africa have launched the third round of #SaferCarsForAfrica crash test results, supported by the FIA Foundation and Bloomberg Philanthropies. The models tested by Global NCAP are the Toyota Avanza, Honda Amaze and Suzuki Ignis. The Avanza is a very popular model in South Africa for public transport and fleet use. Global NCAP chose the entry-level version of each model and each was fitted with at least two airbags as standard.

Nissan ‘Hardbody’ fails in latest #SaferCarsForAfrica crash tests

Global NCAP and the Automobile Association (AA) South Africa have launched the second round of #SaferCarsForAfrica crash test results, supported by the FIA Foundation and Bloomberg Philanthropies. The four models tested show a wide range of safety performance, from zero to three stars for adult protection, with the Nissan NP300 ‘Hardbody’ scoring the lowest ratings which result in a high probability of life threatening injury in a crash.
